Protecting and Preserving Vision

The Greater Butts County Lions Club - Empowering Communities

Our Mission: Protecting and Preserving Vision

For more than a century, Lions Clubs have made protecting eyesight and preventing avoidable vision loss a major part of their service to communities around the world. The Greater Butts County Lions Club proudly carries that mission forward right here in our community.

Helping Our Community See a Brighter Future

Good vision affects nearly every part of life—from a child’s ability to learn in school to an adult’s ability to work, drive, read, and remain independent. Unfortunately, many people may delay necessary eye care because of cost, lack of access, or simply not realizing that a vision problem exists.

Our club works to help make vision care more accessible by supporting programs and services that may include:

  • Vision screenings and eye-health awareness
  • Assistance for individuals who need eyeglasses
  • Support for children and families with vision-related needs
  • Collection and recycling of used eyeglasses
  • Community education about the importance of regular eye examinations
  • Partnerships with local organizations and vision professionals

Why Vision Matters

Many vision problems can be corrected or managed when they are identified early. Regular eye examinations and vision screenings can help detect problems before they begin interfering with school, work, or everyday activities.

For children especially, clear vision plays an important role in reading, learning, and classroom success. For adults and seniors, maintaining healthy vision can support independence and improve overall quality of life.

That is why Lions are committed to helping individuals receive the vision resources and assistance they need.

Donate Your Used Eyeglasses

One simple way members of our community can help is by donating used eyeglasses. Donated glasses can be collected, sorted, and prepared for vision-related charitable programs.

Instead of leaving old glasses in a drawer, consider donating them and giving them an opportunity to help someone in need.

We Serve

Vision is more than eyesight—it is the ability to learn, work, connect with others, and experience the world around us.

The Greater Butts County Lions Club is committed to serving our neighbors and helping create a community where everyone has the opportunity to see a brighter future.

Together, we can make a difference—one pair of eyes at a time.
